Hello, my name is Maria Perez and I have had the privilege of serving our community here at Roybal for 10 years. I served 9 years as a SDC English Teacher. I am currently the Intervention Prevention Support Coordinator and I also support the inclusion teachers as the Inclusion Coach.
Intervention Prevention Support Coordinator
As the Intervention Prevention Support Coordinator I implement multi-tiered instruction and intervention services and resources. I collaborate with school staff to implement TIIP tutoring for Credit Recovery and Intervention. I also encourage family and community involvement by supporting parents to participate in parent teacher conference night. Parents have the opportunity to attend Parent Teacher Conference Night where they have the opportunity to discuss students academic grades and ways in which they can together support the student. I also collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to ensure students receive targeted academic support.
Inclusion Coach
As an inclusion coach I work closely with teachers to ensure that all students, including those with diverse learning needs, are supported in the classroom. I assist in lesson planning, offering strategies for differentiation, and help teachers adapt their instruction to create an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students. Additionally, I provide professional development and guidance for staff on best practices for inclusion.
