Inclusion Program / Resource Specialist Program

Students in Roybal’s Inclusion Program learn alongside their general education peers while receiving the services identified in their IEP. General education and Special Education teachers share responsibility for planning, instruction, assessment, and student support. Co-teaching, differentiated instruction, small-group support, accommodations, and ongoing progress monitoring help students participate meaningfully in rigorous, grade-level learning.

 

Autism Core Program (AUT Core)

Students in the Autism Core Program receive specialized instruction and support in a smaller, structured setting for most core classes. The program is led by a Special Day Program teacher with expertise in supporting students whose primary eligibility is Autism. Instruction addresses academic learning as well as communication, self-advocacy, social interaction, behavior, and independence. Students may also receive a communication skills elective and participate in general education classes, electives, and school activities as appropriate.

 

Intellectual Disability–Moderate Program (IDM)

The IDM Program is a Special Day Program that provides instruction through an alternate curriculum for students who require more intensive, individualized support. Learning is designed around each student’s IEP and emphasizes meaningful preparation for adult life.Instruction may include communication, functional academics, vocational skills, self-care, independent living, mobility, recreation, and community participation. Students also access inclusive school experiences and general education opportunities as appropriate.

 

Multiple Disabilities Program (MD)

The MD Program is a Special Day Program serving students with multiple disabilities who benefit from a highly individualized, supportive learning environment. Instruction is delivered through an alternate curriculum and is tailored to students’ academic, communication, physical, sensory, social-emotional, and adaptive needs.The program promotes functional academics, communication, mobility, self-care, independence, vocational readiness, and community participation. Related service providers, teachers, paraprofessionals, and families work together to support each student’s IEP goals and successful transition to adult life.
