LAUSD Attendance Goals
- Maintain outstanding attendance throughout the school year
- Decrease the percentage of chronically absent students
COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE LAWS
California Education Code Section 48320 requires everyone between the ages of six and eighteen years of age to attend school, except students who have graduated from high school.
Los Angeles Municipal Code 45.04 states juveniles are prohibited from loitering during the hours and days when the school, which the minor would normally attend, is in session.
